I think we scrub up well for a couple of knackered parents!
Tonight we attended the “Dream Maker Ball”; a black tie charity event at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium.
Just under 12 months ago, Alan Staton died at the age of 47 after a battle with cancer. He was the head teacher at a local school where my mate Micky is a drama teacher.
Alan’s wish had always been to build a massive play area for local children, which he was sadly unable to achieve in his short lifetime.
So, staff at the school took it upon themselves to make this happen in Alan’s memory, with tonight being one of many fundraising events.
It was a belting night. A cracking 3 courser, plenty of alcohol, even more laughs, a sports memorabilia auction [with 2 of our table donating over £300], a Liverpudlian Michael Bublé, a local live band and a bit of dancing. What more could you ask for. And all for a very worthwhile cause.
