Tricked by the forecast, I’d arranged for my Dad to come to help me remove the living room radiator. I bloody hate this job as I’ve never done one yet that has gone without incident. Once off and the top grills were removed we realised that the previous house owners obviously didn’t have cleanliness high on their priorities.
We managed to get done with a bit of afternoon sunshine left, so we took my new wheelbarrow for a test drive, in the standard parent fashion.

The amount of chocolate and Easter gifts I was required to hide left me wishing our house was the size of Chatsworth.
When the hunt got underway, Aud lost out a little; Edith ran around collecting all the goodies whilst Aud found her first egg, stopped looking, sat down and rammed it in whole.
To even things out, we’ve pooled the treasure, leaving us with enough chocolate to see us through to Christmas.

It’s amazing that, after struggling for at least 12 months, a simple change of Edith’s hair washing schedule could have such miraculous results.
Saturday mornings give smiles and laughter, as opposed to Sunday night’s full shed collapses.
Audrey, true to form, isn’t phased by any of it. You could wash her hair a 3am and she’d still just sit there with a daft grin.

It’s a hard life, when you’ve got the weight of the world on your shoulders, aged one.

How can three years have possibly elapsed between the first and last of today’s photographs?
As a birthday treat, we visited The Deep where we saw some amazing sea life. I think everyone’s favourites were the Gentoo penguins [very difficult to photograph though!]
We surprised Edith with all her presents when we returned home and afterwards there was obviously cake, candles and singing.
Just before bedtime, unprompted, Edith said to me “thank you Daddy, I’ve had a very happy birthday”, at which point I think I got something in my eye.

I look at the first and last photographs and see that I’m a little bit older, a little bit thinner, a little more tired and seeing as I subconsciously chose to wear the same shirt, I’m obviously a little bit poorer!
But the joy that the little members of my family bring to me, far outweigh a bit of sleep and and a new shirt!

Summer fun at 17:00hrs in April. The climate has definitely gone to pot!

13th April 2014

A forsaken lay in, in favour of a blast on the Peak District trails in the glorious early morning sun.
The weather was like a wolf in sheep’s clothing though, as the wind was immense.
Later in the ride, Jenks daren’t trust another kind of wind, with his bowel status reaching Def Con One in the blink of an eye.
Latterly, we put the world to rights over a well earned pint of ale.

Today the tables have turned and I’m taxiing Mum & Dad around, like they did for me in my formative years. I dropped them off at church for the wedding they’re attending and I’m collecting them from the reception in Grindleford later.
I wonder if they’ll get their revenge by phoning me at 3am to go to collect them?

I made use of my latest purchase and gave the bike a little TLC in the glorious late afternoon sun.
It’s worth £30 of anyone’s money; god bless Lidl’s bike spectaculars.

Swollen and painful bite wound. My Mum says there’s been an increase in False Widow Spider bites [she’ll have no doubt read it in the Rotherham Advertiser].
I fully expect to be dead by the morning. At best, I’ll probably have to have it amputated.

A bird plopped in Karens head this morning, so we thought we’d chance the luck.

A very muddy night ride with @joe_mangle @benjii19 & @E_B_RdotCOdotUK. It was great to do a bit of biking for pleasure, rather than the daily commute!
