It’s been one of those days. We were up and off early [for us] to Edith’s school for its fundraising carboot sale.
Straight from there we headed off to Clarks to get Edith some school shoes. They had every size but hers. As did all the other shops we tried. As the weather was great, I thought I’d have the rest of the day in the garden. My new strimmer wouldn’t work, and then the lawn mower refused to fire up.
They both nearly got wanged over next doors hedge!
The day was saved only by rude vegetables from the garden and carboot hoola hoop fun after tea.

Last nights silly drinks left me a little jaded this morning. In case you were in any doubt, Vindaloo Vodka is truly horrific. I can safely say that I have never put anything as hot in my mouth before. It floored the lot of us. I should have known when they made us sign a disclaimer, in case we died!

I adopted a ‘what makes you bad makes you better’ approach to the hangover by taking Aud to the park and then to the pub on the way home.

A few beers they said. We’ll be home early they said. Nothing can go wrong they said. I’m in Rotherham. This is not part of the plan.

A selection of hideously colourful shirts from the Aldi cycling spectacular. Great for commuting [when image isn’t an issue] and pretty decent value at a tenner each.

Edith’s first unaccompanied school visit [visit and photo courtesy of my Dad]. There were tears but it wasn’t so upsetting that she doesn’t want to go back. It’s all gearing up for the first day next week.

Just a normal scene in The Roebuck™ household. They’re crackers and I’ve no idea where they get it from.

After a freezing cold ride this morning, it was time to accept that summer is finally over.
Time to swap summer box over to winter box and fire up the second headlight.

21st September 2014

A bit of a lazy day. The girls didn’t get up until 08:30 and it was about 10:00 before Olive managed to drag herself out of bed. Her new orthopaedic memory foam bed must be very comfortable.
We only just managed a bit of late afternoon fresh air at the park, and were joined by my Mum and Dad.

20th September 2014

The girls had a party today so I got a couple of hours to myself. Gone are the days where such freedom would be spent in the pub, so I tackled the attic and unpacked things we haven’t touched since we moved in. Another job off the “things to be done when the kids aren’t around” list.
When they returned we harvested some ‘matoes [as Aud would say] and then played with the empty boxes from the attic.

19th September 2014

We let them sit together at tea time and it was like a bloody chimps tea party!

When you’re riding along the towpath at 06:05 and your headlight mysteriously packs in without warning [or maybe you can’t be 100% sure you flicked the charging switch] and you only have the lights of the City to guide you in!

Dad retains his title of “Carboot King”
I’d recently mentioned that I could do with a strimmer as cutting round the lawn with edging shears was both laborious and a wrist killer.
So, today he turned up with this brand new looking Black and Decker which he’d picked up from one of the numerous carboot sales he occupies his time visiting.
The cost? £2.00! TWO QUID!!!!
A belting bargain as it stands, but then he wouldn’t take any money off me, making it even more bargainous!!!!
Carbooty!!
Cheers Dad xx

We treated Edith to a couple of new books for cracking stage [number] two[s] of potty training.
A treat for me too as I love a new bedtime book.
Superworm is good, if not a little simple, and The Troll is ace [for the chance to do pirate voices!!]
Kyarrrrrrrrr
